Repeal of the special provisions for foreigners introduced in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic - IMPORTANT CHANGES

Repeal of the special provisions for foreigners introduced in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic - IMPORTANT CHANGES

Following the announcement of the Małopolska Provincial Office in Krakow, we kindly inform you that on 1st July 2023 the current epidemic risk state on the territory of Poland will be lifted. As a result, special provisions for foreigners, introduced in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic, will be repealed.

The provisions included, for example, extension by law of the periods of validity of documents ensuring legal residence in the territory of the Republic of Poland (such as visas, residence cards, etc.).

Foreigners who took advantage of the above-mentioned special legal solutions related to the COVID-19 pandemic have 30 days commencing on 1st July to either return to their country of origin or to ensure their continued legal residence in Poland by submitting relevant applications for a residence permit, residence card etc. (depending on the formal and legal situation of the foreigner concerned). It is therefore highly recommended to contact the Małopolska Provincial Office in Krakow as quickly as possible.
