General information

Staff and PhD candidates exchange is envisioned and implemented within co-operation agreements that the Jagiellonian University has signed with international institutions of higher education.

The JU International Relations Office co-ordinates and provides the administrative-financial service of the exchange within the JU agreements at university level. Particular agreements define the limits, duration, character and fields of the exchange.

The JU bilateral exchange embraces short-term visits (up to 60 days) and long-term visits (up to a year) to conduct research or courses according to the provisions of the bilateral agreements.

Short-term visits

The aim of short-term visits: research, consultations, initiation of collaboration or a new project/programme, participation in a conference/seminar/summer school, delivering lectures, conducting a course, field research, etc.

Long-term visits

The aim of long-term visits is defined by particular partner universities.

Forms of financing staff exchange

European and non-European countries

1. Partner universities cover the costs of visits (accommodation and per diem or daily allowances), while the Jagiellonian University covers the cost of travel and insurance on the basis the Mobility application form (Wniosek wyjazdowy); particular JU units can grant extra means.

2. Partner universities cover the costs of accommodation, while the Jagiellonian University covers the cost of travel and insurance on the basis the Mobility application form (Wniosek wyjazdowy) and pays per diem in the amount of 20 EUR; particular JU units can grant extra means.

3. Partner universities do not cover the costs of accommodation and daily allowance, thus the Jagiellonian University covers the cost of travel and insurance on the basis the Mobility application form (Wniosek wyjazdowy) and pays daily allowance in the amount of 80 EUR to academic and administrative staff, and in the amount of 50 EUR to PhD candidates.
